Oracle Australia announced today a new bundled offering to help its partners deliver better solutions supporting their customers' move to the cloud.
Partners can choose from SPARC T4 or X86 servers, tape or disc storage and a range of software options for managing cloud and virtualised environments.
Oracle’s Asia Pacific CTO and sales executive Stuart Long told CRN the new bundles created a genuine “entry point” to the cloud for partners and their customers, delivering a pre-configured and highly scalable infrastructure as a service solution.
Partners would find it straight forward, for instance, to develop and deploy for their customers virtual solutions such as database as a service or middleware as a service, Long added.
A management appliance loaded with Oracle software allows for the creation of portals, billing and delivery options beyond that, all supported by a VRU (virtual resource unit).
“This gives resellers a number of options,” Long said.
He confirmed Oracle was working with a number of pilot customers trialing the new bundle including a significant Australian client, which the company expected to reveal soon.
