By Rabid Reseller
It seems people can’t afford to put petrol in their cars any more, so they’re all catching the bus or the train. That is, if the bus or train will bring punters anywhere near your shop.
And therein lies the hidden genius behind Apple’s new shop in the middle of the CBD. You can get there on the train, or the bus for that matter. This is why Rabid’s sales are down – there’s no bus and no train nearby. And now we’ve recognised the problem we’re halfway to fixing it. All we need is to relocate the shop somewhere in the CBD.
Okay, so hands up those who already knew that CDB rents were ridiculous? What’s a humble reseller to do? Obviously Apple can afford the rent. Just as obviously the rest of us can’t afford that kind of rent. Not to mention the $15m fit-out. But that glass looks nice. Well it does now, but we’d like to see it again after some rain. Anyway, the nephew has had an idea that might just work.
We won’t know if we’re onto a winner straight away, but we’re on the public transport route now – in fact we’re on the path right out front of the Apple store. Yep. A box-trailer loaded with PCs, and a cash register. It’s early days but we’re attracting a lot of attention. In fact we’re attracting a lot of attention from people in tee-shirts with Apple logos.
Gotta go! Council rangers waiting!
