Oasis outsources disaster recovery
The firm, which claims to have over $4.5 billion in funds under management and counts ING Australia as its principal shareholder, will use managed DR services provider, Hosted Continuity, to run its virtual server fleet at an undisclosed offsite location in case of a disaster.

The Hosted Continuity ‘solution’ includes data centre space, data/environment change replication, hot seating ‘and various other add-on components’, the company said in a statement.

“It will provide Oasis with end-to-end disaster recovery capability on permanent standby, thus protecting our brand against both tangible and intangible risks,” said Oasis managing director Dave Goodwin.

The Hosted Continuity system runs in part on VMware infrastructure.

In addition, information on the value of the deal was not immediately available.
