Oakton CEO Craig Lennard has left the business and joined Empired.
An ASX statement today (pdf) revealed that Lennard has joined as executive general manager for Empired’s eastern region.
The ole has a remit to “drive strong customer engagement and growth on the east coast of Australia … leading Empired’s East coast sales team and working closely with the wider business to ensure the delivery of strong innovation and business value across customers’ enterprise-wide digital transformation and operations.”
The announcement also revealed that Empired has hired half a dozen new enterprise sales people in Sydney and Melbourne and added a role of senior practice director on its advisory services team.
Lennard’s appointment is significant for two reasons. The first is that Empired has landed a distinguished and experienced exec, as Lennard has also served as MD of SMS Management and Technology’s Advisory and Solution business, in senior roles at Logica and on the Australian Information Industry Association.
The second significance is that his move comes after Oakton was absorbed in NTT, suggesting that the company’s new structure doesn’t have room for CEOs of sub-brands. Lennard was appointed Oakton CEO in just October 2017. There’s no hint that the change is in any way related to performance.
