The New South Wales Department of Planning has awarded ASI Solutions just over $3 million to supply monitors.
The contract is a one-off purchase of multiple units of Philips 346B1C PC monitors as part of an office move, a department spokesperson confirmed.
The monitors are curved ultrawide 34-inch LCD monitors with a built-in USB-C docking station and KVM (keyboard, video and mouse) switch.
The model 346B1C's description suggest the monitors are for corporate users, citing uses like CAD-CAM solutions and spreadsheets as examples. But Philips' Australian website does not show local pricing information for the model, but a model with near-identical specs retails at around $850 meaning the Department could have bought thousands of them with its $3m spend.
Tender documents show the contract ran from 29 August 2019 to 30 September.
