A Sydney reseller that counts NRMA and Fairfax as customers has been snapped up by its vendor partner of 11 years.

Information Research Management (IRM) supplies an online survey and report tool called Confirmit, used by Fairfax to quiz the public on topics, with the results then reported by its publications. NRMA uses the tool to capture feedback.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

The acquisition by Confirmit comes after 11 years as a reseller of the vendor’s product. IRM will remain in Sydney under the name Confirmit Australia and is expected to double to at least 10 people within a year, a spokesperson told CRN.

As well as market research, the software can also be used to monitor and respond to negative online feedback, said Confirmit Australia country manager Chris Breslin. For example, when a customer rates something negatively an email could be automatically sent to the relevant manager.

“You can use Confirmit to put out any bushfires,” he said.

Confirmit recently launched a locally hosted version of its SaaS platform.
