ASX-listed satellite communications provider, NewSat Limited has launched its latest 'dish' at the company’s Bayswater, Perth teleport facility.
The NewSat antenna provides communication with the Apstar IIR satellite, located in the Indian Ocean region and 34,000 kilometres above the equator. The C band antenna is also 4.5 metres in diameter.
Mike Kenneally, general manager sales at NewSat said, the satellite dish will allow the provider to deliver two way broadband Internet connection to a number of countries including Australia, the Middle East and now Africa.
Kenneally said NewSat also has a nest of antennas communicating with around eleven satellites in its Perth and Adelaide teleports.
