NewLease hires former MYOB and Oracle man as new CEO
Dominic O'Hanlon

NewLease has appointed former senior MYOB and Oracle executive Dominic O'Hanlon as its new CEO, effective 5 August.

Described on his LinkedIn page as a "serial technology executive and entrepreneur", O'Hanlon has high-level experience across a variety of vendors, including a former role as chief strategy officer for MYOB from 2009 to 2011.

At MYOB, he built an "instrumental partnership" with Microsoft for the rollout of MYOB's Accountright Live cloud product on Azure, according to a statement from NewLease's parent company, Rhype.

Other notable roles include senior vice president of Oracle, as well as president and CEO of Haley Limited, which was sold to Oracle in the United States in 2009. O'Hanlon was also ANZ managing director for Geac Corporation, now part of Infor.

Rhype executive chairman Mike Hill described O'Hanlon as the "perfect fit".

"He has wide experience ranging from strategic planning, go-to-market execution and key stakeholder management,” Hill said.

O'Hanlon has "strong, established relationships" with many of NewLease’s existing and potential partners.

NewLease co-founder and interim CEO Dawn Edmonds said “Dominic is the perfect mix of entrepreneurial passion and solid experience that we need for this next stage of our evolution."

Edmonds has been in the CEO role since the unexpected passing of Douglas Tutus, who co-founded the company in 2003.

Rhype also announced that current general manager, sales, Warren Nolan, will be promoted to senior vice president, strategic alliances. Nolan has developed "deep relationships" with Microsoft and VMWare.

Yesterday, NewLease revealed it had been appointed as a Microsoft partner in Indonesia and would open an office in Jakarta.
