The new Software AG partner program combines the strengths of the respective vendor’s existing initiatives to form a more comprehensive offering for partners.
“We looked at the partner programs of webMethods and Software AG and combined them,” said Mark Greeff, partner business development manager, Software AG. “We wanted to reposition the program within the organisation, giving it a higher profile than before.”
The aim of the program is to support partners on a global level and leverage joint international resources. Software AG is also keen to establish new markets, particularly in APAC. Features of the program include “process frameworks” designed to capture specific industry knowledge and integrate it into Software AG’s product suite.
Integration World, Software AG’s international user group conference, was held in Florida recently with 26 partners attending. It served as the ideal setting to announce the launch of the new integrated partner program.
“The latest conference was the biggest we’ve had and the partner program was very well received, there were 200 people in the room, it was standing room only,” said Greef.
According to Greef, the company is focused on servicing and supporting its channel partners by dedicating resources to bolster these relationships.
“Collaboration and programs with partners are closely managed and are key to the organisation moving forward,” said Greeff. “We’re working closely with partners on specific topics and obtaining analysis to ensure we have a targeted partner campaign as opposed to spraying and praying where you take your chances and see what sticks.”
The vendor is confident that partners will benefit from the relationship between Software AG and webMethods as each company brings something unique to the table.
“The acquisition isn’t random, we have a story,” said Greef. “webMethods’ product set is a world renowned integration platform and Software AG has enterprise level solutions.
“Coming together and integrating the strengths of the two companies formed a nice, comprehensive end-to-end business management suite.”
