Networking vendor Netgear has expanded its SMB channel focus by inking a deal with distributor Dicker Data.
The firm will distribute Netgear’s range of business and consumer products through Dicker Data’s 3,100-strong network of Australian resellers.
Ryan Parker, country manager for Australia at Netgear said the vendor selected Dicker Data because of its strong customer service focus and standing in the industry.
“Dicker Data has 29 years of experience in the Australian IT industry and a reputation for looking after its reseller base,” said Parker. “This partnership gives us access to a significant number of SMB-focused resellers and we also feel Dicker Data’s selection of core vendors particularly complements Netgear’s SMB ProSafe product range.”
Dicker Data has received its first shipping of Netgear’s products and the sales and business development team has undertaken sales and technical training.
David Dicker, managing director at Dicker Data, said the signing is the first addition of a networking firm into the firm’s vendor stable. “The Australian IT industry is a very tough market for distributors and this partnership gives us the opportunity to move into an entirely new area of business.”
Chris Price, sales manager at Dicker Data, added: “Dicker Data will start an advertising and telemarketing campaign in November to let our resellers know we can now do next day supply of Netgear’s SMB ProSafe product range, its new ReadyNAS storage line and consumer products.”
Netgear’s ProSafe product line now incorporates switching, storage, PoE, VPN routers and SSL, software, access points and wireless controllers.
