NASDAQ-listed consulting giant Cognizant has acquired Australian digital services provider Odecee.
Odecee is a Sydney- and Melbourne-based mobile, web and cloud services company that counts ANZ Bank, Australia Post and NBN Co among its big name clients.
The value of the buyout was not disclosed in the announcement to the NASDAQ. CRN attempted to contact Odecee managing director Con Mouzouris and Cognizant's ANZ head John Burgin but they could not be reached at the time of writing.
Earlier, Mouzouris said: "Becoming a part of Cognizant will enable us to expand our capabilities, services and exposure – while ensuring the long-term vitality and sustainability of the business.
"This is a strategic step forward for us and opens up a significant growth opportunity for us across newer technologies and industries," said Mouzouris, who is also the co-founder of Odecee.
"Our clients will now benefit from an expanded pool of specialised skills, global experience, and industry-acclaimed best practices."
About 150 staff from Odecee will be taken on by Cognizant as part of the deal, as well as intellectual property such as the Velocedee mobile platform. It is unknown whether the Odecee brand would be retained under the new ownership.
Odecee has offices in Sydney and Melbourne and was founded in 2007.
Cognizant employs almost 200,000 people in 75 branches around the world. The new Jersey-headquartered public company provides consulting, technology and business processing outsourcing services.
