Microsoft has tapped Express Data as its first valued added distributor in Australia for unified communications.
The software giant said its choice was based on a strong track record of collaboration between the companies building technical and licensing capability within the channel.
“Express Data helped us scale this capability into the channel through extensive training and program execution and our partnership will enable Microsoft to demonstrate this opportunity to the broad partner audience,” Microsoft’s channel manager Carolyn Clarke said in a statement.
The distributor’s existing strong partner relationships was also cited.
Express Data’s head of marketing and vendor relationships Peter Masters said the company’s appointment as Microsoft’s first VAD for UC coincided with a ramping up of investment in the fast growing space which he said “was a critical area of growth for the channel”.
Last year Microsoft named Express Data its 2012 MAP (Microsoft Australia Partner) distributor of the year.
