Microsoft has released previews of updates to Windows Server 2012 R2, System Center 2012 R2 and SQL Server 2014.
The releases are part of a wider update cycle dubbed "Windows Blue", which will also see the preview of Windows 8.1 unveiled in San Francisco this week.
Microsoft unveiled the previews at TechEd Europe, saying updates such as improved software networking, support for virtual machine portability and better storage systems will make it easier to work in the cloud.
"These products are going to have a massive impact on companies around the world – and IT pros are going to see the traditional boundaries between datacenters vanish and a true hybrid cloud emerge," said Brad Anderson, corporate vice president of Windows Server and System Center. "Microsoft has made a big bet on what we call our cloud-first design principles, and many companies are already benefiting."
All of the previews are available immediately for free, and can be downloaded from Microsoft here.
