Microsoft has revealed a host of new products and updates to its portfolio around security, cloud and containers at Microsoft Ignite in Atlanta.
The company announced that Windows Server 2016 will be available next month with Docker Engine container support at no extra cost. The new server operating system features Azure monitoring capabilities combined with Operations Management Suite updates.
Systems Centre 2016 will also be available next month, which offers a management solution for Windows Server 2016 software-defined data centre features.
On the security front, Microsoft revealed Office 365 Threat Intelligence, which provides users with alerts and analysis on where threats are coming from.
Microsoft also said that Office 365 Advanced Threat Protection will be extended to Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business.
The company is also offering free educational resources for IT professionals, including a new online community called Microsoft Technical Community, an expanded Microsoft IT Pro Career Centre and Microsoft IT Pro Cloud Essentials.
Microsoft debuted new AI capabilities, including health insights and reminders from Cortana and Relationship Assistant for the soon-to-be-released Dynamics 365 for Sales.
Microsoft announced an extended partnership with Adobe to host some of its extensive marketing cloud in Azure. The cloud giant has also partnered with the Renault-Nissan Alliance to bring cloud computing to its next generation of cars.
