Upstream Technology and Print Solutions Australia have merged to create “Australia’s largest independent print company”.
The new business, Upstream Print Solutions, launches with operating revenue in excess of $90 million and 3,500 business customers under long-term contracts across Australia and New Zealand.
Upstream Print Solutions claimed its position as the largest dealer in Australia for Ricoh, Lexmark, and a significant dealer for Hewlett-Packard and other equipment manufacturers, will give the firm’s customers “exceptional buying power”.
Neil Tilley, former chief executive officer of Upstream Technology, will head-up Upstream Print Solutions. Gordon Hoen, former chief executive officer of Print Solutions Australia, will work as executive chairman of Upstream Print Solutions.
Tilley claimed few organisations know what print and copy output costs their business and Upstream can help businesses identify and reduce those costs.
“In our experience, many businesses have realised that outsourced managed print services is the most cost-effective way to control document costs, but they’re looking for an independent alternative to equipment manufacturers. Upstream is that alternative,” added Tilley.
Upstream Print Solutions has nearly 300 employees and all staff will be retained.
