Melbourne's Spatial Distillery partners with Swiss GeoAI provider

Geospatial analytics company The Spatial Distillery Company said it has formed a partnership with Swiss artificial intelligence firm Picterra to bring advanced satellite and drone imagery analysis to the Australian market.

The collaboration between the two entities aims to help organisations analyse aerial imagery more efficiently using artificial intelligence, enabling them to track land use changes and meet environmental regulations.

It will combine Picterra's artificial intelligence platform, which analyses imagery from satellites, drones and aircraft, with The Spatial Distillery Company's local expertise in geospatial consulting.

"This partnership is a game-changer for the Australian geospatial market," Nigel Lester chief executive and founder at The Spatial Distillery Company said.

Picterra has worked with more than 100 organisations globally on geospatial analysis projects. The company's platform aims to automate the process of analysing aerial imagery to detect changes in landscapes and infrastructure.

The technology allows organisations to move away from manual analysis of satellite and drone imagery, instead using artificial intelligence to automatically detect and track changes across large areas.

Australian organisations will now have local access to the platform along with support and consulting services from The Spatial Distillery Company.
