Netcrypt has come up with a way to protect data and make it easy for organisations to keep their data safe irrespective of whose device it's stored on.
Netcrypt detects and prevents data infected by CryptoLocker to spread on the network. Using versioning, Netcrypt allows for roll-back to the minute before infection.
In its submission to the CRN Impact Awards, the company stated "downtime is minutes, not hours or days, and doesn’t rely on backup software".
Netcrypt is an encryption software with the benefits of the cloud, according to the company. It can be hosted anywhere, by a cloud service provider, a MSP or in the customer's on-premises infrastructure.
Netcrypt creates encrypted vaults on a client's server so the client can securely store data. These vaults are accessed as mapped drives enabling easy end-user adoption.
The Melbourne-based ISV designed and built Netcrypt to overcome key data security problems, allowing users to work without having to worry about security.
BigAir chief technology officer Richard Mitton said: "Netcrypt is a clever product with military-grade encryption, data stored in encrypted vaults and cloud-enabled networking capabilities to name just a few features. This is something we have not seen before in a single data security solution.
"We are thrilled to be an Australian launch partner with a roll out to a customer that has 63 sites with over 500 seats and we will be hosting Netcrypt in our cloud," Mitton added.
The solution is customisable, and allows for hierarchical access through secure mapped drives. These drives contain data loss prevention capabilities, preventing users from stealing the data.
With compliance in mind, Netcrypt provides a unified product offering, with a single point of reporting, enabling a full audit trial of all data intervention and transactions. With flexible storage deployments on-premises and in the cloud, the organisation can choose where to have its data stored.
In order to provide smart storage, the solution can be set to remove data not used for a specified timeframe. Archived data remains visible and accessible to end users through placeholder technology and allows end users access to retrieve archived data without the need of IT administrators.
Ensuring data is protected even if devices are lost or stolen, Netcrypt stores the data in AES-256bit encrypted vaults. Data is secured and hidden until the user is authenticated and identity is proven.
Netcrypt also secures Microsoft Windows server file shares. Netcrypt works closely with MSPs and CSPs who provide storage into a marketplace within Netcrypt.
The solution is sold through the channel only. The sales cycle is short, with product demos and trials easily set up, and no hardware required.
Netcrypt is a finalist in the IP, product and platform innovation category at the 2017 CRN Impact Awards. Follow this link for the full list of finalists. The winners will be announced at the Impact Awards dinner during the CRN Pipeline conference in Sydney on 6-7 April.
