Melbourne-based security software developer Datasec has announced that its Cryptix off-device file encryption tool is now available through HP Inc’s Workpath cloud platform.
Cryptix, which Datasec calls a cloud-based trust platform, encrypts documents and removes the need to process and store document data on-device with HP printing devices.
The platform uses “one-time pad” encryption technology, which is used in secure messaging, and also separates the control keys at the data level to avoid providing a data “honeypot”.
Datasec said it is looking for Australian HP print resellers that want to adopt Cryptix.
“With Cryptix, we’ve created something special in Australia that can quickly scale into a global business solution,” Datasec solutions director Paul Waite said.
“By working closely with HP, we aim to have 100,000 devices utilising Cryptix by the end of 2022, making the day-to-day operations of thousands of enterprises more secure.”
HP earlier this year launched Workpath, a cloud platform and developer ecosystem that allows print resellers and developers to create applications for business processes. Datasec says Cyptix is one of the first apps in the platform that provides secure data transfer for HP printers.
