Melbourne ISV Arcitecta wins engagement with one of the world's biggest super computers

Melbourne-based ISV Arcitecta has landed a deal to provide a data solution for one of the largest supercomputers in the world.

Late last year, Taiwan’s National Centre for High Performance Computing (NCHC) completed Taiwania 2, the world’s 20th most powerful supercomputer, which will be used as the computing platform for Taiwan’s entire research community when it officially launches early next year.

Arcitecta is working with NCHC to deploy its core data management platform Mediaflux. Mediaflux is an open platform based on hyperscale database technology that gives users a “single worldview” of their stored data. Arcitecta says its platform can manage 100s of petabytes of data with a single server no matter what sort of data it is.

Arcitecta is working with NCHC on a data solution for public dataset, which it said has the potential to evolve into a multi-site national AI platform for researchers and industry users.

This mark’s Arcitecta’s first venture in East Asia, having signed its first major overseas client in the US just four years prior. Arcitecta’s strategy is to partner up with another IT company when entering a new market, so this time it’s teamed with local reseller BigTera to deliver the project.

Arcitecta also thanked the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade), which has helped the ISV for the past seven years with setting up overseas companies to launch into new markets. Arcitecta applied for the Export Market Development Grant (EMDG) from Austrade which initially helped the company expand internationally.
