Bing Lee has become the latest high-profile Australian technology retailer to roll out Australian-developed retail platform Omnivore, created by City Beach Software.
The electronics seller becomes the 500th customer to use the software in three years, with JB Hi-Fi, Dick Smith and Officeworks among existing users.
Pitched as an “up and coming” software business, City Beach Software promises to make it easier for retailers to connect their product catalogues to third-party online marketplaces.
The company was established in 2012 by Ivan Logan, Westfield’s former global head of development and the former technology director of Fairfax’s transaction division.
As well as high-profile electronics and technology retailers, other users include General Pants, Rebel, Super Cheap Auto, Rays Outdoors, Surf Dive n Ski Georg Jensen, Sass & Bide and EB Games.
Logan told CRN that City Beach sells directly, as well as having partnerships with Westfield, eBay and Lend Lease. The company also white labels its technology.
City Beach also does the development work to connect customers’ product databases.
