National provider eVideo Communications has fitted out Australian aeromedical organisation CareFlight with a new video conferencing system.
Sydney-based eVideo, a 2009 and 2010 CRN Fast50 company, announced that it had deployed a combination of fixed high-definition Icon 600 end points and LifeSize Cloud remote cloud services for the non-profit client.
As well as the hardware, the agreement includes service and support for CareFlight around Australia, said eVideo director Tom Morgan.
"We are really pleased that we are making a real difference in providing video conferencing to such a wonderful organisation such as Careflight," said Morgan.
Video conferencing will aid CareFlight's operations in delivering patient retrieval services and professional training for remote medical staff.
"They did a fantastic job of installation. No fuss. The system works seamlessly over our sometimes limited broadband network office to office or to remote locations," said CareFlight chief information officer Gary Williams.
CareFlight was established in 1986 to train and dispatch pre-hospital and transport specialist doctors in helicopters, planes, and medi-jets to "bring a hospital level of care to the critically ill and injured". The organisation treats over 5,000 patients annually.
Sydney-headquartered eVideo has branches in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Canberra, Adelaide, Perth and Hobart. The company specialises in teleconferencing, VoIP, and AV technologies, and lists LifeSize, Polycom, Cisco, NEC, Shoretel and Mitel among many vendors.
LifeSize is a Texan vendor that was acquired by Logitech in 2009.
