US flash vendor Tintri has launched in Australia headed up by a former senior exec from NetApp.
Peter Molloy joined Tintri as APAC vice-president in January after a career that included more than two years at Firescope, initially as Australia & New Zealand country manager, and eight years at NetApp, including as account director to Telstra.
Molloy, who will be based in Singapore, is not the only new hire: the vendor has appointed a Melbourne-based channel and marketing director, Roger Mannett.
Tintri will have sales and pre-sales in Sydney and Melbourne.

Mannett told CRN that Tintri was "the only storage product designed from the ground up to be hypervisor-agnostic and virtual machine aware".
The flash vendor already had a local representation, through Sydney-based BEarena and Melbourne-based Southern Cross Computer Systems.
Value-added reseller BEarena has been working with Tintri for about a year as "the signature partner in ANZ", said technical director Darren Ashley. "We do have units in country, and I plan to make an announcement about the first Australian customer shortly."
Tintri was founded in 2008 by Dr Kieran Harty, who formerly led development at VMware as executive vice president of engineering.
