After reaching an agreement, the Sophos for Marshal, module will combine Sophos’s anti-virus engine with Marshal’s content security technology to form an integrated malware module at the gateway.
According to Marshal, it will provide protection at the gateway against known viruses, spyware, worms and adware, as well as against any potentially unwanted applications (PUA).
Available immediately, Marshal’s VP products, Bradley Anstis, said the culmination of an ongoing collaboration between Marshal and Sophos is set to deliver a faster and more complete solution.
"The new module provides even more choice to Marshal customers and it broadens our portfolio to deliver a truly integrated AV and malware module based on a single engine.”
Peter Norman, VP Product Management and Corporate Development at Sophos commented: "This collaboration with Marshal is an important one. We are confident that Sophos for Marshal will prove to be effective protection against both virus attacks and potentially unwanted applications (PUA)."
The module does not require any additional software installations.
