IT and business services provider Logica Australia has appointed security specialist Ajoy Ghosh as chief information security officer (CISO) as it expands its security practice.
In the role, Ghosh will act as the security lead consultant for Logica Australia with a focus on national security and critical infrastructure and will provide CISO duties for Logica's public sector, energy and utilities, and transport and logistics clients.
Ghosh has over 15 years experience in IT security working across law enforcement, banking and consultancy with companies including Westpac Banking Corporation, Unisys and the NSW Police Service.
Ghosh has expertise across computer forensics, information security, reliability and protective security, and has been called the expert witness in some of Australia's largest corporate investigations.
Ghosh "is widely recognised as one of Australia's leading security experts and has a long history of working with the government and private sectors as a key adviser on information and protective security," said Bernadette Harkin, Logica's sales, marketing and consulting director.
Harkin said Logica is currently expanding its security practice considerably to address its clients' security needs. "Ajoy's appointment will further strengthen the suite of services we provide to our clients.
"Our clients need to know they are working with the industry's best people as they are often dealing with issues that could become a matter of national security," said Harkin.
Ghosh remains a respected academic in security practices. He wrote the Standard Australia's Handbook 171 Guidelines on the Management of IT Evidence, and co-wrote the Handbook 231 Information Risk Management Guidelines.
Keep an eye out for Ghosh's monthly CRN column to be launched this week.
