Brisbane-based storage services provider Digital Sense has appointed Agim Isai as its first-ever chief executive.
Isai joins Digital Sense from Logicalis, where he had been general manager for the Queensland operation for almost four years since Logicalis acquired Corpnet, where he had served as chief executive.
Digital Sense provides IT hosting and cloud infrastructure with clients in government and private sectors. The services provider has its own 1,600sqm data centre.
Isai will focus on rebranding and strengthening the go-to-market strategy, hiring new talent across different areas of the company and also on growing Digital Sense's presence in the government sector.
"Digital Sense have a very good hosting business and an exceptional cloud offering, so the next 12 months will be about strengthening the plan and go to market strategy around some of the unique offerings we have available.
"We will leverage the company’s current unique foundation offerings to provide the market with a serious alternative, greater flexibility and a unique service experience, the basics that currently aren’t being provided by some of the larger players," said Isai.
"We have already started to boost the partnerships with VMware and other technology vendors such as Fujitsu and NetApp and how they can incorporate some of our services into their portfolio."
Isai said Digital Sense will grow beyond an infrastructure-based service model to become stronger in managed services. It will take two models, one through channel and also a direct sales approach to enterprises "leveraging some of the key partners and vendors to help us grow".
Isai has 20 years' experience in the technology industry. He worked for the Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane City Council, Future Computers and Corpnet.
At Corpnet, Isai helped the startup to reach $24 million in revenue during his 12 years as the chief executive and managing director. In 2012, Logicalis acquired Corpnet for $2.7 million.
