Lenovo launches virtualisation portfolio update targeting AI readiness

Lenovo has announced a suite of new infrastructure products and services aimed at helping enterprises modernise virtualised environments and prepare for AI workloads, including new hardware, tiered deployment services and expanded validated configuration bundles.

The release centres on three additions: the ThinkAgile VX850 V4 server, purpose-built for highly virtualised and in-memory workloads; a restructured Lenovo Infrastructure Deployment Services portfolio; and an expanded set of Lenovo Express Solutions under the Top Choice Express programme.

The ThinkAgile VX850 V4 is designed to support both structured and unstructured data and is positioned by Lenovo as a consolidation platform for business-critical workloads, with headroom for AI integration as enterprise applications evolve.

The revamped deployment services are organised into three tiers - Standard Deploy, Premier Deploy, and Premier Deploy Plus. All three include hardware installation and a structured readiness process.

The Premier tiers add implementation and operational handoff support, while Premier Deploy Plus extends that with post-deployment assistance and a one-year infrastructure health assessment, excluding DE Storage Array.

The expanded Lenovo Express Solutions provide pre-validated infrastructure configurations combining Lenovo hardware with software from major platform vendors.

The updated portfolio covers Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server, Red Hat OpenShift Virtualisation, Microsoft Azure Local with ThinkAgile MX V4, Nutanix Cloud Platform on ThinkSystem, and SUSE Virtualisation on ThinkSystem V4 - giving partners and customers tested paths across virtualisation and hybrid cloud environments without bespoke integration work.

Lenovo also highlighted updates to its ThinkSystem Storage and ThinkAgile HCI lines, pointing to integrated cyber resilience capabilities it said support ransomware recovery and operational continuity for AI and business-critical workloads.

Updated Lenovo XClarity Controller 3 and XClarity One management tools are intended to simplify operations across distributed hybrid environments.
