Leader Systems speeds niche vendors to WA resellers

Leader Systems' expansion into Perth is going swimmingly, according to managing director Theo Kristoris, who says one of the company's selling points is providing faster access to inventory than the state was previously known for.

The computer manufacturer and distributor made its move into WA when it acquired assets from Altech, which entered voluntary administration in December last year. Altech previously had operations in Perth, Sydney, New Zealand, Brisbane, Melbourne and Adelaide, with the latter three moving into the company’s Sydney warehouse before the company went under.

Kristoris said picking up Altech’s WA branch had been a successful move.

“We have found that WA resellers have had difficulty sourcing certain brands where distributors were only keeping stock in NSW. We have focussed on having large stock holdings in Perth so we can deliver fast,” he said.

“AOC, MSI, Micron, TP-Link, Thecus, Shuttle and HGST are just a few examples of these brands that Perth resellers can now source with same day delivery instead of the long transit times from Sydney.

“We specialise in servicing enterprise and SMB resellers. We also stock locally in WA unique brands such as Ubiquiti, Cisco, 3CX, Yealink , NEC, Draytek, Powershield, FSP and, SuperMicro.”

Leader has setup its PC and server production facility in Perth, which offers resellers locally customised builds and service of Leader-branded desktops, notebooks and servers.

The WA branch is headed up by Alan Tan, who joined Leader in January after more than a decade with Perth stalwart reseller Austin Computers.

“With Alan Tan, who is one of the most well respected and experienced IT personalities in WA, we have been able to offer resellers exceptional customer service with a person they trust. We see a very bright future in Western Australia and look forward to working with channel to help them grow,” Kristoris said.
