Leader offers resellers e-commerce site

Leader Computers has announced the availability of new tools that enable its resellers to deploy an e-commerce website that feeds directly into the distie's core business systems.

The WebSync tool, created by Adelaide's DBG Technologies, will cost resellers $1,000 to set up and $200 a month in licensing fees, exclusive of GST.

It will enable Leader's 3,000-strong national network of resellers "to deploy e-commerce enabled websites that draw live data about stock, availability and prices" directly from the distie.

"We know this will definitely get extra business for our resellers - and for us as a result," Leader Computers sales manager Jaimie I'Anson said.

"Throughout our channel, we expect this automated ordering will free up sales people so they can chase up other opportunities more aggressively."

Massoud Esmaili, managing director of Adelaide Computer Superstore, a Leader partner, said he had ordered a WebSync website. He claimed the system would be "a winner.

"It is a very good idea for small shops like us because it gives us an edge over big competitors like Harvey Norman and Officeworks," he said.

Esmaili said the superstore's old website did not contain a full product catalogue, which would have required two full-time staff to maintain.

He said the new site saved customers the hassle of coming into the store or making a phone call.

"As it's not labour-intensive, I need to add only a small margin to our products, which gives us another competitive edge against those bigger stores," Esmaili said.
