A statement from Kaseya said that the integration of Scorpion's products into Kaseya's systems will result in "the industry’s first comprehensive and integrated security and IT management as-a-service solution."
"The Scorpion Software technologies will also be used to offer the highest levels of secure access to the Kaseya suite of products," the statement read.
Gupta said that identity and access management has "exploded" in importance worldwide.
Dana Epp, founder of Scorpion Software, said that the company is " extremely excited" about the acquisition. "We share Kaseya's vision of an integrated cloud platform for IT management and security."
Kaseya's cloud monitoring software is delivered through the channel in Australia. In June, Datacom Australia selected Kaseya as its cloud monitoring supplier, after a tender process. That same month, the vendor celebrated the launch of version 7 of its suite with its Australian partners at an event in Sydney.
