Jackson leaves Allied Telesyn after restructure

Allied Telesyn managing director Mark Jackson has parted ways with the company following the consolidation of its Australian and New Zealand operations.

Jackson had been with the company for the past seven years before his position was no longer required, Allied said.

Allied's previous New Zealand general manager, Paul Batchelor, has been promoted to regional director for Australia and New Zealand.

Speaking to CRN, Jackson said the parting was a “mutual” decision and there were other interests that he wanted to pursue in the technology industry.

He said he would be running his own operation and be involved in the sale of Allied Telesyn equipment.

“Allied Telesyn was a great company. They’ve got some exciting technology, moving forward in the carrier space,” he said.

According to a company source, Allied’s Australian operation would soon be divided into north and south regions.

Before joining Allied, Jackson was network products manager at now-defunct Apple distributor Mitsui Computer. Previously, he was a senior systems engineer at Logical Solutions, which is now owned by Fujitsu.

Batchelor would try to reprise the success Allied Telesyn had seen in “triple play” -- voice, video and data -- sites in Europe, Scandinavia and at San Jose University USA and launch new VoIP and network mobility wireless technology, the company said.
