IT recruitment firm IT Matters shuttered after 17 years

A Sydney IT recruitment business has closed after being in business for 17 years.

IT Matters Recruitment Services appointed Cor Cordis partner Jason Tang as liquidator on 22 February.

Founded in 2000, IT Matters provided an IT job search portal for technology architects, business analysis, database administration, development, digital media, training and testing, among others.

The company also offered recruitment services and a contractor portal. The business touted it had previously recruited for RSA, Citrix, CenITex, Fujitsu Australia, The Australian Federal Police and others.

CRN understands the company was wound up voluntarily by its director over the process of about 12 months. It is understood IT Matters had up to 40 staff at its peak, but that number had been scaled back over the past decade.

Following its deregistration, the IT Matters website has taken on a different form, and now appears to be operated by a business spruiking itself as an SEO specialist consultancy.

Documents filed with ASIC reveal debts claimed by the Australian Taxation Office in the vicinity of $625,000. A number of unsecured creditors are claiming $20,000 according to the liquidator.

Cor Cordis’ Tang told CRN the liquidator was still in the process of making its investigations, and that the ATO and unsecured creditors were unlikely to receive a dividend at this stage.
