Three months ago our gadget noses picked up the scent of a 5.9in HTC phablet and now the embiggened HTC One-inspired handset has been snapped in the wild. Meet the HTC Max.
Almost indistinguishable from the HTC One, the HTC Max features a larger 5.9in screen, pitting it against the Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Huawei Ascend Mate, Samsung Galaxy Mega and the upcoming Galaxy Note 3.
According to ePrice, the Max will feature a full 1080p screen and will be powered by Qualcomm's impressive 2.3GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor – the same silicon beast that lies within the Xperia Z Ultra.
The HTC Max will also have the same 4MP Ultra Pixel camera as the HTC One, which might disappoint shutterbugs who were holding out for a few more megapixels.
Android 4.3, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of (presumably) non-expandable storage and a hefty 3,300mAh battery all round off the reported specs.
The HTC Max is expected to be revealed in September, setting us up for a juicy HTC vs Samsung heavyweight showdown when the Galaxy Note 3 is revealed at IFA.
