Packaging manufacturer Aperio has expanded its agreement with technology integrator Interactive from a purely hardware services deal to a complete managed services offering across its IT infrastructure.
NB - Since the publication of this story, Interactive have contacted CRN to inform us that the $750K figure supplied to us by their communications team was incorrect. The company is yet to supply the correct amount.
The three year contract includes management of virtual servers and managed storage services, managed firewall services and end-to-end management of production environment.
Internet access, backup and faster access for all sites to share services is also included across Aperio's thirteen Asia Pacific sites.
Developed and managed by Interactive's Business Solutions Group (BSG), the customised service allows Aperio's 13 virtual servers to run off Interactive's scalable VMware Virtual Farm.
"Ultimately, we sought a solution that would make our ICT infrastructure work harder to deliver more bandwidth and increased resilience to cope with the growing demands of our business, rather than significantly investing in a completely new system or resources," said Blair Hope, CFO for Aperio.
Aperio's current capacity limited its ability to meet the needs of its remote sites and provide the security and protection required for its customer data, the manufacturer said.
Aperio maintains full control over its servers and has the flexibility to turn up or turn down the solution to fit their business needs.
