According to Tom Rampone, VP for the sales and marketing group (SMG) Intel and general manager for channel platforms, it wants its resellers to be amongst the first to deliver a complete solution to customers.
He claims this platform will empower channel system builders with the latest tools to build powerful systems based on Intel Architecture.
“For us the product is all about helping our resellers, particularly those that focus on the extreme gaming segment,” said Rampone.
“Our products allow our resellers to win in transition. We have seen generation after generation that when we look at our customer base it’s our channel partners that help the technology to move quicker than the market,” he added.
The combination of the motherboard with the desktop processor means bandwidth and memory performance with high graphics flexibility and it will help customers transition to a new technology.
It speeds video editing, games and other popular Internet and computer activities by up to 40 percent without increasing power consumption and is suitable for consumers looking for digital media creation, powerful multi-tasking and extreme gaming performance.
The Core i7 processor is the first member of a new family of Nehalem processor designs.
“Intel has delivered the fastest desktop processor on Earth to the most demanding users on Earth, the ones who are using their PCs for video, gaming and music,” said Patrick Gelsinger, senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Digital Enterprise Group.
“When you couple what is Intel’s biggest leap in chip design with other incredible innovations like Intel’s solid state drives, the Core i7 processor has redefined the computer of tomorrow.”
