Dell is aiming to grow its security business in Australia and New Zealand by handing Ingram Micro access to its SonicWall security portfolio, an expansion of their existing partnership.
Ingram Micro was the first-ever distributor in Australia to have access to Dell's entire enterprise portfolio. Six months later, Ingram was also granted the distributor access to the end user computer portfolio.
Dell SonicWall product marketing manager Kent Shuart said: "Ingram is a very strong global partner. They have the reach and relationship we want to broaden the channel."
Shuart added that SonicWall can identify ransomware when it first arrives and respond to the threat quickly, which is an advantage to partners. Dell has also announced the firewall-as-a-service offering for Australia and New Zealand, which can be offered as a subscription-based security solution targeted at MSPs.
SonicWall is also distributed by Hills. Dell SonicWall ANZ general manager Sandeep Joshi said this extended partnership should not affect Hills because the distributor has a strong regional presence.
Dell is also distributed locally by Avnet.
