Ingram Micro lands distribution deal with secure card vendor Entrust Datacard

Ingram Micro has signed up as the exclusive Australian distributor for US-based Entrust Datacard, a trusted identity and secure transaction technology solutions vendor.

Entrust offers card personalisation solutions, including ID cards, payment cards and physical and logical access cards.

Ingram Micro will provide resellers with Entrust’s range of printers and certified supplies for the production of secure cards.

“Ingram Micro has a fast growing specialty product business and the Entrust Datacard range of solutions perfectly complement our growth strategy in this area,” said Ingram Micro general manager Andrew Upshon.

“With our respective market leaderships, I believe we will bring growth in this category for our reseller partners and for both of our companies.”

Entrust’s solutions can have a number of technologies incorporated on their cards depending on the security level, and can also help minimise the risks of fraudulent tampering and counterfeiting.

Some of these technologies include encoded magnetic stripe, RFID, tactile impression of ID photos, UV printing, holographic images, smart contact areas and serialised laminates.

“Security is at the forefront of today’s business and technological challenges,” Upshon said.

“This is where the Entrust Datacard desktop printer solutions, combined with the company’s TruCredential software suite, can offer a level of speed, convenience and ease-of-use in producing secure cards that would have been considered impossible only two or three years ago.”

Upshon added that Entrust’s printers can provide resellers with additional business opportunities with their compact physical dimensions and included security technologies.
