Infosys has expanded its multi-year collaboration with GlobalFoundries (GF), a semiconductor manufacturer, to deliver AI-led managed services across GF's enterprise IT landscape.
Under the agreement, Infosys will manage GF's end-to-end application, infrastructure, data and service desk operations. The engagement is designed to transition GF from externally supported operations to a managed services model driven by AI, automation and continuous optimisation, the companies said.
GF selected Infosys on the basis of its existing relationship with the semiconductor maker and its domain expertise in the sector, according to the announcement.
Vishal Mehra, chief information officer at GF, said the renewed collaboration marked a step forward in the company's effort to modernise IT operations and improve efficiency, resilience and user experience.
"Collaborating with Infosys will help us equip our teams with next generation capabilities to accelerate this transformation journey," Mehra said.
Anand Swaminathan, executive vice president and global industry leader for communications, media and technology at Infosys, said the outcome-based operating model would help GF reduce incidents, improve end-user experiences and lower total cost of ownership over time.
"Infosys will unlock AI value at scale to play a central role in driving intelligent operations, helping GF transition from reactive IT management to predictive and autonomous service delivery," Swaminathan said.
