IBM Consulting has named Andrew Lovrek as the new head of its Microsoft cloud consulting brand Neudesic in Australia, strengthening its position in the rapidly evolving cloud and AI services market.
Lovrek joins Neudesic from Telstra, where he led the Cloud Infrastructure team managing both private and public cloud environments.
His appointment comes as the Microsoft specialist consultancy builds momentum following its Australian launch in late 2024.
"I'm looking forward to building on Neudesic's global momentum in the Australian mid-market and leveraging Neudesic's deep expertise in Azure, AI, data, engineering, and analytics to Australian customers," Lovrek said.
His extensive experience includes roles as Consulting Delivery Director at Microsoft and leading the Cloud Infrastructure team at National Australia Bank (NAB), giving him substantial expertise across financial services and technology transformation.
Lovrek plans to focus on strengthening IBM Consulting's portfolio across key sectors including financial services, manufacturing, energy and utilities, with particular emphasis on meeting growing demands for AI implementation.
"As we move through 2025, my focus will be on strengthening IBM Consulting's portfolio across industries including financial services, manufacturing, energy and utilities, and meeting the growing demands of artificial intelligence," he said.
"Andrew joins us at an exciting time of growth," Iskra Nikolova, IBM Consulting's hybrid cloud services leader said.
"His expertise in delivering impactful solutions and curiosity to continuously explore new ideas and approaches, ensures teams are always at the cutting edge of technology," Nikolova said.
IBM acquired Neudesic in 2022, bringing the global professional services firm under its consulting umbrella.
The company specialises in data and AI, cloud migration and modernisation, application development, and business strategy.
Founded in 2002 and headquartered in Irvine, California, Neudesic now employs over 2,500 Microsoft-certified consultants delivering services across multiple sectors worldwide.
