IBM’s Australian channel manager has departed the company six months after taking up the position.
Nigel Peach, general manager business partner growth for Australia and New Zealand, has “decided to pursue opportunities outside IBM”, a company spokesperson confirmed to CRN. Peach himself was unable to comment at the time of writing.
Peach joined Big Blue in September 2017 from Pure Storage, and was tasked with leading the business’ partner growth strategy, focusing on bringing on new partners and expanding into new markets, with a particular focus on artificial intelligence, cloud, security and IoT.
“There is a huge opportunity for our partners to work with IBM, and leverage new technologies such as Watson and cloud, underpinned by security. It’s an exciting time to join IBM, and I’m keen to be part of this next chapter,” Peach said at the time of his appointment.
Peach entered the role to replace Rhody Burton, who departed the role in May last year.
The most recently channel chief's departure comes four months after a leadership change-up at IBM Australia, with Kerry Purcell exiting the managing director role after two-and-a-half years to return to a senior leadership role with IBM Japan. The company appointed David La Rose as Purcell’s replacement.
IBM said it was actively recruiting for Peach's replacement.
