IBM snaps up Exeros

The companies on Tuesday announced an undisclosed deal which will see IBM take over Exeros and integrate the company into its Information Management branch.

Exeros specialises in data discovery software which allows companies to compile and organize related data across multiple databases.

The software is designed to provide users with a more complete view of client data in a single, automated format.

IBM hopes to bundle the Exeros software as part of its Information on Demand platform.

The initiative seeks to allow customers to better manage databases and analyze information.

"All organisations today are faced with the daunting challenge of turning massive amounts of information into insights to guide their businesses, but many are held back by the complexity of corporate data sources," said Ambuj Goyal, IBM's general manager of information management.

"The combination of IBM and Exeros will enable companies to more intelligently manage their data across all formats and computing platforms, creating a smarter enterprise,"

IBM said that it plans to complete the integration of Exeros within the next several months.
