The new device features a 3.8 inch wide-screen VGA display (WVGA), 5.0 megapixel camera, built in GPS, access to Foxtel and a 3D user interface.
It will be available through Telstra shops and dealers from 10th February.
According to Anthony Petts, sales and marketing director, A/NZ Touch HD delivers an uncompromising multimedia and internet experience.
“HTC Corporation will continue to enhance this product, that is what technology and innovation is all about,” he said.
“We need to assess whether to make it available for Windows 7. It is something we are looking into.
“For resellers, we are trying to make it easier and simpler to sell this product.
"We spend time educating our resellers so that they can add value to their clients in supporting their needs and any follow up requirements,” added Petts.
Ross Fielding executive director of Telstra Consumer said the HTC Touch HD is ideal for customers who use their device to access services like BigPond TV and the internet.
He added that its design will appeal to people looking for a rich multimedia experience on their mobile phone.
