HP unveils new cloud design service

HP has announced a new service which will help customers design their cloud networks more effectively.

The HP Cloud Design Service will help customers build public and private cloud networks and link them to non-cloud infrastructure. The consultancy service will also prepare individual assessments of cloud plans and the possibilities for scaling them up or down.

“Organisations of all types are struggling to understand how to build a cloud-specific infrastructure that is safe and effective while meeting their business objectives,” said Alan Wilson, vice president of HP’s Solutions Infrastructure Practice.

”HP has the experience to help clients ensure the design and implementation of cloud infrastructure will deliver the expected benefits today and in the future.”

The new consulting service will boost HP’s plans to become full service providers, selling everything from base hardware to advanced analytical and planning services.

“While cloud is entering a period of accelerated adoption, companies need strategic counsel on the cloud infrastructure design that will best meet their business goals,” said Gard Little, research manager for Worldwide Services and Emerging Services Opportunities at IDC.

“No matter what path companies want to take to adopt cloud, HP offers a comprehensive set of services that cover complex and heterogeneous environments to help organisations maximise the business benefits.”
