GFI Software will create a new company called LogicNow to market its widely used MSP management platform.
LogicNow will run as a separate business and will focus on subscription-based SaaS products for MSPs, including the GFI Max service provider platform – which the vendor claims has more than 10,000 MSP users.
Under the restructure, GFI Max has been renamed MAXfocus, which includes MAXRemoteManagement, MAXMail, MAXServiceDesk and MAXBackup. The LogicNow product set including IASO cloud backup.
GFI Max has been on the market for 10 years and has users in more than 100 countries.
Maxfocus has grown at over 50 percent a year for the last five years, said general manager of LogicNow, doctor Alistair Forbes.
“There has never been a more exciting time to be an MSP," he said in a statement. "The market for those IT support companies that have made the leap from break-fix to MSP is growing rapidly and evolving as cloud and mobile services proliferate."
On the client side, GFI Software's private cloud products for IT departments in end-user businesses will be delivered separately by another new company called GFI. This includes a range of products, from GFI Cloud for IT management, to email, messaging and network security.
Both companies will be the same as the current GFI – majority owned by Insight Venture Partners – aid Dr Forbes.
