Fujitsu has launched a program that will allow its customers to upgrade to Windows 7 - before the official release of Microsoft's latest operating system.
Fujitsu said in a statement that a Windows 7 upgrade was available for selected notebooks that are preinstalled with qualifying Windows Vista software in Asia Pacific excluding Japan and Korea.
The upgrade options include, Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Home Premium; Windows Vista Business to Windows 7 Professional and Windows Vista Ultimate to Windows 7 Ultimate.
Eligible PCs include, LifeBook A1120, A6220, A6230, P1630, P8020, S6520, S6420, S6421, T2020, T1010, T5010, U2020, U2010; and Fujitsu L1010, without an accompanied Windows 7 upgrade coupon.
To be eligible for the upgrade option program, the notebook purchase must have been made between 29 June 2009 to 31 January 2010.
Furthermore, the proof of purchase is required.
Customers will be charged with an upgrade fee of $28.99, to cover materials, shipping and handling charges within Australia and only Visa/Mastercard credit card payments are accepted.
Besides the upgrade fee, the customer may be required to pay local custom/duty charges and taxes at local Post Office.
Limited quantities were available and registration can be done online.
