The Department of the Environment and Energy has handed Fujitsu Australia a contract to provide IT services, dislodging incumbent provider Datacom.
The $8.3 million deal covers ongoing support and maintenance of ICT infrastructure services, including an initial transition period from Datacom for an unspecified duration.
The contract runs for a three-year period from 30 September 2019 to 29 September 2022.
A department spokesperson told CRN the services will augment its internal IT support team in accordance to its IT service management model, IT application strategy and the department’s overall strategic direction.
“This is a new contract and was awarded following a thorough technical and commercial evaluation, and subsequent value for money assessment. Information about the contract is reported on AusTender,” the spokesperson said.
“This procurement was conducted using the Digital Transformation Agency’s (DTA) Digital Marketplace, where multiple prequalified, experienced, and security assessed Panellists were approached as part of a competitive quotation process.”
Tender documents showed the procurement was conducted through the DTA’s Cloud Services Panel, which covers a variety of “as-a-service” products.
