Foxtel has started selling fibre-to-the-premises (FTTP) broadband services over the NBN bundled with TV and home phone.
The pay television company's bundles start at $111 per month on a 24-contract, which include 100GB data limit, 25/5 Mbps internet speeds, unlimited standard home phone calls and Foxtel's entertainment TV pack.
Prices increase for faster internet speeds up to 100/40 Mbps, unlimited downloads and larger Foxtel TV bundles, rising to $240 per month for the most expensive deal.
Foxtel executive director of broadband Andrew Lorken said the company's NBN service was optimised for streaming video. There will be no data limit for customers streaming content directly from Foxtel.
"We think this truly differentiates Foxtel from other broadband providers in an increasingly competitive market and we aim to be the broadband supplier of choice for those customers seeking a combination of the highest quality internet access and the best content,” Lorken said.
Foxtel's ADSL broadband customers will be able to switch to an NBN service without having to sign a new contract once the network is available at their home.
Foxtel is a joint venture co-owned by Telstra, Australia's largest NBN provider, and News Corp.
