Fortinet launches ISP and security solutions

It allows ISPs and managed security service providers to protect their networks generating revenue through virtualised cloud-based security services.

Charlie Cote country manager A/NZ Fortinet said it was excited to extend its product range to include the support for the largest ISP/Carriers as well as high end enterprise.

"The beautiful aspect of the new features is that it brings true benefits to all verticals, from service providers, large government clients, medium distributed enterprise, to smaller organisations with maybe one to five sites as well," he said.

"The expansive product portfolio is backed by a truly unique and industry leading operating system with the FortiOS.

"Though FortiOS Carrier is geared toward the Telco market, the foundation is built upon the FortiOS operating system, which is truly unique.

"We are proud to provide organisations the ability to enable quite granular security capabilities in their business.

"We will be looking to have only a very few of our strategic partners being able to support and sell FortiCarrier as it is a very high level product set," he added.

The platforms run on the FortiOS Carrier which offers standard Fortinet unified threat management features, as well as carrier specific extensions protecting carrier voice-over-IP infrastructures and mobile phone operator networks.

The following products make up the FortiCarrier family of carrier-grade solutions:

FortiOS Carrier 4.0, the software component for FortiCarrier.

FortiCarrier-3810A platform integrates security into an Appliance.

FortiCarrier-5001A-DW part of a chassis-based security platform.

Fortinet products are distributed in Australia by WhiteGold Solutions and Firewall Systems.

Pricing for the FortiCarrier-3810A starts from $87,995 excluding GST, with the FortiCarrier-501A-DW starting from $94,995 excluding GST.
