Savellis joins D-Link’s Business Solutions Group, focusing on the education market.
Prior to joining D-Link, Savellis worked for Netgear as a business development manager.
He also spent five years at Ingram Micro as a marketing executive specialising in IBM, Compaq and HP solutions for small to medium-sized businesses.
“This is an exciting opportunity for me because I believe D-Link has the right networking solutions for the education market,” said Savellis.
“Schools and other educational organisations have rapidly growing networking needs, particularly when it comes to wireless connectivity.
“Many schools have wireless solutions, but relatively few have unified, easy-to-manage solutions, which means they are wasting time and money on support.
“Part of the problem is the perceived cost of unified management solutions, something that D-Link addresses,” said Savellis.
“Our business networking products are ideally suited to schools which are looking for a modern networking solution that is stable, reliable, scalable and cost-effective to support to help them improve their networking capabilities.”
Savellis, based in D-Link’s North Ryde, Sydney headquarters, reports to Michael Bailey, commercial sales manager for D-Link A/NZ.
“Robert Savellis brings an enormous amount of both industry and specialist networking experience to this position,” said Bailey.
“This experience will assist Robert in educating organisations like schools about how they can deploy technology, originally developed for the corporate environment, to keep pace with increasing networking demands without increasing their support costs."
