Firewall Systems has stepped up its mobility offering with the signing of networking vendor Aruba Networks.
The security specialist distributor, best known for carrying vendors such as Checkpoint and Trend Micro, will now will stock Aruba’s range of Mobile Edge System products which allow secure mobile access to to enterprise resources.
Nick Verykios, marketing director Firewall Systems said signing Aruba would allow the company to take a security and networking package to resellers.
“Mobility is heavily demanded by Australian business users," he said. "For over a decade now they have demonstrated that they are far more productive when they have access to the network irrespective of their physical location.”
Verykios claimed Aruba networks had entered the local market in a “big way” with the appointment of managing director David Humphries and Mark Verbloot who come from the likes of Alcatel, Cisco and F5.
“Aruba has been evaluating the Australian distribution landscape to appoint a single distributor to look after their interests in Australia and after about a six month investigation have chosen Firewall Systems,” said Verykios.
David Humphries, Aruba executive said the company chose Firewall ahead of big-named distributors, LAN, Ingram, Channelworx and Avnet.
"The more established distributors are set in their ways. We want a youger company that can adapt to the the changing market," he said.
Verykios said the vendor was already attracted strong interest from some large corporates in Australia and interest in Aruba is growing rapidly. Interest is also coming in from all our resellers who service large government and enterprise users but in particular the medium enterprise and small business space.”
Verykios said Aruba was also a perfect fit for the company's services model.
