Its features include a new interface, redesigned and customizable Status Toolbar and Script Triggers, which launch scripts triggered by user actions.
The FileMaker Pro 10 product line includes FileMaker Pro 10 Advanced, FileMaker Server 10 and FileMaker Server 10 Advanced.
According to Steve McManus, general manager, APAC, FileMaker, (pictured), the software is rare in the database category because it is flexible and doesn't require any programming language to automate it.
“Users simply check off actions to build scripts which can automate any business process,” said McManus.
“Scripts can be attached to buttons, and clicking a button runs the script, it’s so simple.
“In our new version 10 there is something for everyone, from the first time database user, or perhaps someone currently using a spreadsheet, who would take advantage of the 30 new templates to the experienced FileMaker user who relish the introductions of triggers to automate script actions,” he added.
McManus said the software is important to resellers because ‘automating processes using a database, especially in economically uncertain times, makes any business more efficient and productive’.
“This release of the database creates an opportunity for every reseller’s business customers," he said.
"FileMaker Pro 10 ships with 30 pre-designed templates and in addition there is video of the basics, a hands-on visual tour and an in depth tutorial, so there is a tremendous opportunity for every reseller’s customers to really automate their business systems,” he added.
